The Meetings Industry Council Annual Leadership
Award recognizes individuals that demonstrate active leadership within the
meetings industry. This includes leadership within one or more MIC organizations
and the personal and professional integrity that allows them to stand out among
their peers.
Selection criteria for the award include positions held within industry
organizations, committees the leader has chaired and special projects or events
they have assisted in organizing. The Selection Committee also reviews specific
ways in which the winner has served as a role model to their peers. This
includes work towards the advancement of the industry by sharing their knowledge
through published articles, presentations to students or businesses and
stewardship for the industry with any multitude of organizations related to or
impacted by meetings. Many of our past award winners have been recognized with
awards from one or more MIC member organizations for the same efforts that
solidified their selection as an MIC Industry Leader.
Below are links to the forms to be used when nominating a meetings industry professional for the Annual MIC Leadership Award. The award will be presented at the 12th Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show March 8, 2012 at the Colorado Convention Center. This award is given each year to a person within the industry that has demonstrated active leadership within one or more industry associations and has displayed the personal and professional integrity that allows them to stand out among their peers.
Thank you in advance for making the effort to recognize an outstanding meeting professional. The MIC Nomination Committee will review all submissions in February and select the winner for the March Conference. All submissions must be turned in no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 3, 2012. Please pass along the form to your active membership. Anyone with membership in one or more of the 13 MIC associations may nominate individuals or themselves for the award.
